Create a team in the app, pick baseball or softball, and add your players with their names and jersey numbers. Then give each player a walk-up song: search the Apple Music catalog, pick the song, and set the start point so the right part plays as they step up. Drag players to set the batting order, and you are ready for game day.
Every team has one share code (7 characters) and a QR code, both in the team's share sheet. Anyone with the code joins from their own phone: they enter the code, add their name, and the team shows up in their app marked SHARED. If the code spreads further than you wanted, regenerate it; the old code stops working immediately.
Almost everything. Members can run playback on game day, reorder the lineup, add and edit players, change walk-up songs, generate announcer clips, and edit team playlists. A few things stay with the owner: renaming or deleting the team, removing members, regenerating the share code, and offering ownership transfer.
No. One subscription runs the whole dugout. Members ride the team owner's subscription; the only time a member sees a paywall is on a team they own themselves.
Walk-up songs play through each phone's own Apple Music, not streamed from yours. A member with Apple Music hears the full song at the exact start point you set, just like you do. A member without it hears the 30-second preview, which is a different part of the song. Everything else (playback, the lineup, the announcer) works the same either way. So for a matched experience across the dugout, each phone needs its own Apple Music.
From your team's members list, offer ownership to an existing member. They see the offer in their app and can accept it, and you can cancel it any time before they do. When they accept, they become the owner and you stay on the team as a member, so you keep access to the roster you built. Your own subscription stays yours. If the new owner does not have a subscription yet, the team pauses for everyone until they start one.
Open the members list and tap Remove next to their name. It takes effect immediately.
No. Without a membership, songs play as 30-second previews, which covers most walk-ups. With an Apple Music membership, full songs play. Either way, you search the full Apple Music catalog and set your own start points.
Every song has a clip editor. Set the start point to the half-second, so the part of the song you actually want is what plays when you tap the player. Set it once; it sticks.
No, and we want to be straight with you about it, because it was on our roadmap. Recent changes to Spotify's developer platform removed the access Diamond DJ would need to control playback. That decision is out of our hands. If the access comes back, we will revisit it. In the meantime, we are looking at additional music sources to support next.
Warmup playlists do. Lock the phone or switch apps and the playlist keeps going, so you can pocket it during pregame. Walk-up songs and soundboard clips are different on purpose: they stop the moment the app leaves the screen, so a clip never fires while you are not looking. For a walk-up, keep the app open until the song is done.
Announcer clips are generated once and cached on your phone, so they play with no service at all. Songs stream from Apple Music, so they need some connection. At fields with weak service, open the app and your lineup before game time so everything is loaded.
$4.99 per month after a 10-day free trial. The subscription renews automatically, and you can cancel any time in your Apple Account settings. One subscription covers your whole team, including everyone you share it with.
The 10-day trial is the full app. After it ends, game-day playback needs a subscription. Your teams, players, and song picks stay saved either way, so nothing is lost if you subscribe later.
In your Apple Account settings: open the Settings app, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, and pick Diamond DJ. Canceling stops the renewal; you keep access through the end of the period you paid for.
